Celebration of Marriage Week
24th June to 2nd July 2022
The Celebration of Marriage Mass for all married people was held at the Cathedral on Saturday 2nd July. This was an opportunity for us all to celebrate the gift of marriage together, as a couple, a family and as part of the parish community.
The diocesan marriage week booklet gives plenty of ideas for couples, families and parishes.
Synod 2023
This is a two-year synodal process that will culminate with a gathering of Bishops in Rome. It is an invitation to everyone to speak openly about the path the Church is taking in our changing time.
On Wednesday 22 June 2022, our diocese gathered at the cathedral for an Evening Liturgy with the Bishop and presentation of the Clifton Diocesan Synodal report. The liturgy focused on the themes that emerged from the responses that the Synod team received from all parishes.
The Bishop urged us to see the Synodal journey as a way forward for us all to grow within the Church:
“Our Parishes and Communities should be places where Christ is celebrated, shared, proclaimed and lived, where everyone is welcomed and valued and all have a sense of responsibility for the life of the community and the world.”
